Best dog

Whats the best dog breed to have with a child of 2 years ??? WE are planning to get a dog, but we want the best breed for our youngest member of 2 years.
So what dog would you recommend for a family of 3 and with a 2 year old daughter?

I would suggest a beagle. They are medium sized so they won’t knock him down hard and they are generally very good with kids. Try researching them, I have a beagle and he is so gentle!

I have heard that Yorkies are great dogs fro young children and toddlers.

    stuffed animals are best
any dog that is trained, socialized, exercised, groomed and vet care
kids have to be trained how to treat animals
i prefer chows, but you need to supervise with any dog
little dogs are to fragile unless they know how to treat animals

I would recommend waiting longer. Toddlers tend to be a little overwhelming with dogs.

If its a must then any dog can be good, as long as you invest the time for some training and socialization. Its going to be personal preference but there is no such breed thats good with toddlers.

A Austrailian Cattle Dog Blue Heeler or Red heeler are the best they are protective and you can leave a child alone with them and not worry. I am 13 I got my Blue heeler blue when I was 3 he is the best, we got him from a pound in Washington. Once a feel off my swing and he went and got my mom, by barking frequently. He bits but only strangers and one trainer correctly can be the best dog ever. They are prety low mantence until they older, Blue is 10 but in okay condision. Also they are medium sized and dont need much space but like to run around in good weather. Blue will not go to the bathroom in the house or around he goes way off in the woods, loves to keep the place clean!!

I would say a medium size breed (thought your daughter will have to be supervised with any breed). Small dogs are not ideal because kids can pick them up and drop them, which can be very harmfull. Big dogs are not ideal because they could knock her over. So medium would probably be best. Cavaliers are great dogs. They have a great personality and can be laid back. Maybe a bassett hound. They are bigger and not very active. Maybe even a bigger shih tzu (not a tiny one though) but some can be 15 pounds and they are great dogs too. I would also recommend maybe and older dog rather than a puppy because puppies are full of energy and can be playful (but sometimes too playful) and they are more likely to go around and get into your daughters toys. Older dogs are sometimes easier to train and do not go through as many of the stages as puppies do (such as the constants chewing). You would have to teach your daughter the proper way to be around a dog to, but that is a good skill for later in life.
