Small Dogs

My friend and I are going away to college soon and the place we’re looking at says they’re pet friendly but the animals must be under 75 pounds. Are there any dogs, preferably from a puppy mill and are extremely adorable, that are small enough?
Or any breeds?

You can go online to any dog breed site and do a search on small, toy and miniature breeds. There’s probably 60 breeds that would fit your description.

You WANT a poorly bred dog from a mill? They cost you extra in vet bills you know. Why not just adopt from animal control, your local shelters, Petfinder or even the various breed rescues?

I would say mini schnauzers they look like mini teddy bears and dont shed are trainable and loving. i hope this helps

So you want a puppy mill dog? Right gonna assume that’s a freaking typo otherwise get a gerbil.

Second 75lbs or less covers small dogs all the way to large dogs

    under 10

Why would you be wanting to obtain a dog from a puppy mill? That’s the last place on earth you should look for a dog.

MOST dogs are under 75 pounds. Only the giant breeds and some of the large breeds weigh that much or more.

‘Extremely adorable’ is subjective. Some people think the Pukenese is adorable, but I sure don’t. You need to do LOTS of research, because it sounds to me like you know absolutely nothing about dogs.

My female Greyhound weighs 65 pounds – greyhounds make great pets.

They don’t raise them in puppy mill conditions, (just the exact opposite with lots of open air and sunshine!) but they do need good homes when their professional racing careers are over.

My girl is as adorable as can be!

Did I read you right? You would prefer a dog from a Puppy Mill?

    Really?

I tell people to run as fast as you can AWAY from those places. They are nasty filthy places run by ignorant people.

Are you a troll? or are you serious? you can’t be serious?

Just go to the pound you will get a better quality pup there than from a Puppy Mill.

get ur dog from a shelter puppy mills are a bad idea first of all and a lot of dogs are under 75lbs my pit bull is only 40lbs i think a better question would b what dogs cant i get. you can get any terrior like a yorkie you can get a poodle a weaner dog a lab even if u keep it in shape. i think you should read up on differnet breeds of dogs because even if its under 75lbs not all dogs are good for apt life. a bulldog or a pug would be great. they dont need a lot of excercise but need to be kept cool and snore.

  8. Labman Says:

There are plenty of medium or even larger breeds that usually don’t go over 75 pounds if kept lean. Many a 90 pound Lab should be a 70 pound Lab. Puppies sometimes get bigger than their parents. I would never get a puppy from a larger breed if I lived where I couldn’t have a dog over 75 pounds.

One of the best sources for dogs with a predictable size is the rescue dogs. These are dogs that lost their home, but were taken into a foster home to be retrained as necessary and placed in the right home for them. You may find a rescue near you starting at The rescues charge a fee to help cover their expenses, but is much less than the price of a puppy plus all its medical expenses the first year.
