Toby was hit by a car. He can’t walk on four feet–just two. The mostly paralized back legs are held up by a… homemade device designed and built just for Toby. He’s always enthusiastic to see me. The only dogs happier than Toby are puppies. And he LOVES the cookies he knows are hidden in one of my pockets. Toby has a small throbbing red tube – but you can’t see it in this video! I don’t know much about Toby’s history with the wheelchair. A year or so ago he moved to Utah.
Cassady, my incredibly loved dog, died, at 18 years of age, on April 13, 2010. I will miss her forever.

i love to see this….most people put a dog like this a sleep but why…if we can’t walk we get a wheelchair too…to bad most people see a dog(or animal)as something they own or if its gone they get simply a new one…they don’t think for options to help a such an animal or its to expensive..

That wheelchair is homemade. A dog wheelchair company offered me a free chair for Toby. But he moved away and I’ve not been able to find his owner. Maybe they would give the wheelchair to your do?

We’d like to offer Toby a better cart from Eddie’s Wheels – call us if you’d like something a little better for him. I’m concerned about the lack of support to his midsection and the amount of flailing he’s going through.

I believe he’s something like an Australian Cattle Dog. But I’m not absolutely certain.

my sister made her own wheelchair for her dog, boomer a german shepard and it broke down while we were walking in a park in london at 8:30. So we tried to fix it but couldnt so my sister carried the 125 pound dog while i carried his wheelchair then three months later she got a new one. boomer always is happy especially with my sisters blind dog boomer respects the blind dog ember but when boomer met ember, ember shook him by the scruff of the neck!! He was born without any nerves in his legs
