no the illyrians did not disappear before christ. the illyrians fought against the roman empire and lost around 200 years after. they were divided into two provinces but they made a pact with the romans on keeping it’s native culture alive. then the slavs came in. some illyrians stayed, others moved south. the illyrians that stayed mixed with the slavs n became croatians, bosnians, etc. the illyrians that did not want to mix came into the albani region of illyria, hence ALBANIANS.
