@JPLOWMAN2 the thing that is funny is that both the chuck smooth and baha men versions are centered around the same song by anslem douglas but the chuck smooth version got heavy to moderate airplay on rap and hip hop radio stations in the southeastern US. meanwhile it took the success and status as an impromptu sports anthem for certain teams of smooth’s version for the baha men to re-release their version and that’s when they blew up. they recorded theirs for the rugrats movie originally.

@JPLOWMAN2 i’m from mississippi and the way we got wind of this song is that a rapper by the name of chuck smooth released a miami bass dance club version by the same name but the subject matter was about how he was on the hunt for women at the club, like a dog. a few football players from mississippi state university heard the song and by way of the athletic department, made this the theme song for the squad. this version then became the first version played at sporting events.
