Dogs Video

Howlatthemoon–
I was not aware that some of that guys dogs have been killed by bears, is that true? If it is, that is pretty awful because those dogs are chained to the ground and have no way to escape if there is a violent bear. That would be pretty crappy on his part. If I would have known that, I would not have shown the video

Ha ha! That’s so cute! I watched a documentary on that before.

It’s about acceptance, adjusting expectations, & focusing on the “can do’s” in life which allows for a celebration of amazing outcomes. Ricochet is an internationally renowned champion surf dog at the center of media attention, who has become an inspirational phenomenon, motivational role model, internet sensation, fundraising marvel, goodwill ambassador, and muse to millions! This video depicts her journey from birth to 15 months of age, as she goes through her service dog training, which is cut short due to her propensity to chase birds. Her role changed to SURFice dog & she started to fundraise for quadriplegic surfer, Patrick Ivison, who she met the night before this video was filmed. The intention was for the two of them to surf a wave together on their own surfboards. At one point, when they surfed into shore, Ricochet jumped off her board, and onto Patrick’s. It was her decision to surf tandem with him! Once the video went viral, she turned it into a platform to help more people/animals & she’s raised over 000 in the last year. She promotes kindness, charity, philanthropy, and social responsibility, such as her video about anti-bullying “You’re amazing just the way you are!” For more info on Ricochet, her surfing, her charitable causes, or to make a donation, go to www

~ WOW WOW WOW. beautiful how nature is.
I guess the bears are not hungry and feel safe, not threatened.

    Wow! That is amazing.

ahhh that was so good. I guess the Polar Bears figure they need all the friends they can get since global warming is melting away their home.
plus I think they like fish better.

  4. Whitney Says:

Well as someone else said… the bear must not be hungry. If a polar bear is hungry enough they will even eat their own kind. So this is pretty amazing.

Add, person who gave me a thumbs down, doesn’t know anything. I saw a documentary on polar bears, and how there is very little food for them around. I saw a polar bear kill and eat polar bear cubs. If one is hungry enough, they will eat anything.

I don’t know, but the pale husky looked like it was afraid, and those dogs should have doghouses. It’s cruel that they are just tied out there with no shelter, and no water or food in sight, either. But the bears must look upon them as friends.

Loki – I have seen other dog mushers ,and they have houses for their dogs.Susan Butcher had houses for all of her dogs. The “Mush With Pride” website, dedicated to sled dogs, recommends shelter for all sled dogs!

Also, during the Iditarod, they wear coats on many of the dogs, and put straw down for them when they stop for a break. If those were wild dogs, they would seek shelter by digging out a den or finding a deadfall or cave to sleep in. Being den animals, they must feel very vulnerable out in the open like that. Just because you own huskies doesn’t mean you know it all.In my opinion,it is cruel, and if someone here had a husky tied up in their backyard with no doghouse or shelter of any kind, they would be cited for cruelty to animals!! OMG,if the “Animal Cops” saw those dogs, that musher would be in trouble!!! And I do not belong to PETA,I just believe in humane treatment for all animals.

    Edit: Also,from You Tube:
The owner of these dogs, Brian Ladoon, is a piece of crap. These sled dogs in Churchill Manitoba are cruelly chained down their entire lives and if he doesn’t have enuff food for them he just shoots them in the head. I have been to Churchill many times and have seen his numerous “dog camps” that are on public property (Provincial land) and the Police (RCMP) do nothing to him.

Ladoon only breeds these dogs to satisfy his alcohol and drug habits, he is a jerk. Norbert Rosing took the photos.

  6. Loki Wolfchild Says:

Didn’t watch the video, but I assume you’re talking about the Churchill Polar Bears. Their relationship with the sled dogs of the village is certainly unique! I know it’s been the subject of lots of study (and documentaries, and photographs), and it is by no means common to the other villages in the region.

    Very strange!

    Tammy C:
Get over yourself. Those are working dogs, bred for *thousands of years* to sleep in the snow and eat raw meat. They don’t have water sitting out because it would freeze. They don’t have food sitting out because — unlike many overweight pets, sprawled on the couch and lobotomized from poor breeding — they aren’t free-fed. They are fed once a day, and they immediately eat what they’re given.

Their coats protect them from the cold, and they would sleep *on top* of their houses, if they were given any. They live fulfilling lives, doing the job for which they were bred. Anyone who thinks this is “cruel” needs to get their noses out of the PeTA handbook and remember that their housepet USED to have a job, and it USED to be tough.
