“How Much is That Hound Dog in the Window” by Homer & Jethro.
All the other “dog songs” in country usually involve the dog dying (e.g., “Old Shep,” “Old Tige”).

‘My Old Friend’ by Tim McGraw is a good one. It don’t say its about dogs but its the song i think of when i think of my dog.
