@flourecentclear So many ppl buy pets without thinking and then abandon them . thus the need to adopt from shelters because they are full… In shelters, we have a lot of pure breds, despite what it seems. And without this type of breeders, shelters would be almost empty!! Plus, the dogs he breeds are probably not socialized well, and are probably sick, which means more accidents, bites and other shit so that this guy could make money… Well, the guy is dead, so RIP no matter what…

@flourecentclear Thank you. I live in Europe but I think the US faces the same kind of issues as we have. People buy pets for some time, thinking of them as just a way to amuse kids. They don’t understand or don’t care enough to see that it really is a responsibility and your whole life changes… No, you cannot just leave on weekends, and no, you cannot stay for that sleepover, because guess what? your dog is at home and needs to eat.

@flourecentclear There are different kinds of breeders… And this is not what we would call breeding (according to me). This is typically what we are trying to fight, breeding for the money. I must say i have some experience in breeding and I do not own 100 dogs. We make sure before mating that all our dogs find a suitable home, we personnally check homes and stay in touch with owners. it s all on the small scale. I also own rescued animals and they are all well taken care of and socialized.

This is exactly why people should not buy dogs, but rescue them. I brought my first one at 23 but will never do that again. Too many dogs need homes and adoption fees are near as expensive either.

@SHADOWHAPPYKITTY I think it may because in parts of the book, great emphasis was put on the fact that a lot of people thought that dogs had a disease and could bring about the bubonic plague. I haven’t finished the film, so I don’t know if that same emphasis is here.
